Welcome to another day of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, where my theme is: what can fairy tale characters teach us today.
And we're almost through the alphabet, landing on W today.
W = Wendy
I love Peter Pan as witnessed by my previous posts: P = Peter Pan and T = Tiger Lily. Check them out if you haven't already. There's so much we can learn from characters who are in the prime of youth and considering whether they want to grow up. Ever.
What can we learn from Wendy today?
Lift as You Climb. I'm stealing this saying from hearing it for years at Utopia Con. As opportunities come your way, share information and experiences with others who have similar interests. Nobody wants to be on top of the mountain all alone. Wendy could have gone alone to Neverland with Peter Pan, but she shared the adventure with her brothers.
Young people can be leaders. Don't be content to just follow. Lead when you can, especially if you have experience. Wendy had to learn to grow up and lead, and she didn't shy away from it just because she was young.
Don't be afraid to try new things. Life is about growing and experiencing. Don't let fear be your guide.
What did you learn from any of the characters in Peter Pan?
