Review

Vampires. My fascination with them first drew me to paranormal books many years ago, but the more I read, the more I wanted a unique spin. And I'm thrilled to say Cursed Hearts offers that. Succubi were a new paranormal creature to me, and I found myself fascinated. After all, a creature who lives off of passion but is cursed to be without love.

Add to that a man who believes himself without a soul, and you have a classic paranormal Romeo & Juliet--such potential for tragedy and broken hearts. But you'll have to read it to find out the ending. No spoilers here.

As if they did not face enough, a succubi-vampire union comes with its own curse. Only a once-in-a-lifetime love would be worth facing all of these obstacles.

I highly recommend you pick up your copy today.

About the Author

SF Benson, a native of Michigan, resides in Georgia with her husband, a human daughter, and a couple of miniature fur kids (two female short-haired guinea pigs). At one time, she wrangled a household which included three Samoyeds, saltwater fish, a hamster, and three guinea pigs. When she’s not busy playing Doctor Doolittle, she enjoys answering the question “what if” by writing mostly Dystopian/science fiction and paranormal stories for young adults and new adults. And if a spare moment happens, she morphs into a bookworm and devours a few books simultaneously.

Tala Prophecy Boxed Set: Character Highlight Day 5

Happy Valentine's Day!

❤️️ I hope something sweet happens in your life today. ❤️️

Today is all about Winona, an important woman in Reagan's life. I'd say exactly who she is, but it's a spoiler if you haven't read the series or read past Chasing Memories, book 1. Suffice it to say, she comes into Reagan's life, and they form an instant bond. A bond that will affect the world and the battle of good versus evil.

Winona was raised in a cave and is super naive to the real world. But she has a heart of gold and will fight with everything she has. Her faith will give Reagan a much-needed source of strength.

Tala Prophecy Boxed Set: Character Highlight Day 4

Happy Monday! It's time to share another character from my Tala Prophecy series.

And don't forget, the complete series will be available as an ebook boxed set this Thursday, 2/17/17. I'll share links and more information later in the week. There's even a trailer coming your way.

Today, you'll get to know Rowan, the man who captures Reagan's heart during her tough transition into a world she doesn't understand. And he has an intimate knowledge of the evil they will face because it's his brother.

Rowan is a smoldering but sweet romantic interest, and his strength helps Reagan through.

Tala Prophecy Boxed Set : Character Highlight Day 3

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

It's Day 3 of sharing character highlights from the upcoming Tala Prophecy series boxed set, which will release Thursday, 2/16/17.

Today is all about Lucent, a vampire who plays on the side that most benefits him, or at least that's what he's always done. Reagan and her pack talk him into supporting their cause, bringing in Heavenly intervention in their efforts to secure his loyalty. Will it be enough?

Do you love not knowing whether a character will be a good or a bad guy in the end?

Tala Prophecy Boxed Set : Character Highlight Day 2

Happy Saturday.

I'm sharing a character highlight a day until the release of the Tala Prophecy boxed set next Thursday, 2/16/17.

Today is all about Nana, one of my favorite characters in the series. Jackie, affectionately known as Nana, comes into her granddaughter's (Reagan) life at a pivotal moment, and time is running out to teach her everything she needs to know.

Nana has sacrificed a lot for her family and the world. Will it be enough to ensure victory?

Do you love to fall in love with peripheral characters?

Tala Prophecy Boxed Set Coming : Character Highlights

Each day from now until 2/16, I will highlight a quote from a character in my Tala Prophecy series. If you are wondering why, I have news.

Next Thursday, 2/16, I will publish the boxed set, which will include: Chasing Memories, Chasing Shadows, Chasing Destiny, and Chasing Eternity. All for $3.99.

And it'll be FREE on KU.

So, today is all about Papa. In my mind, he'd be played by Hugh Jackman in the movie version. Just saying. And he's the rock of the shifter community.

Stay tuned over the next week to get more character quotes and details about the upcoming release.

War and Pieces: Frayed Fairy Tales Cover Reveals

I feel so honored to be part of an awesome group of authors, the Ferocious 5, and we've been busy creating something new and amazing for your reading pleasure! The time has come to reveal all the things. Strap in and prepare yourself for something awesome.

As you can see from the banner above, the title is:
War and Pieces - Frayed Fairy Tales
It's a serial series, and there are ten seasons, so there are several covers to see. Stay with it!

Here's the blurb:

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there were zombies…

That’s how it all started. Authors have created a major problem with stories like Cinder, The Dark Queen, and Asleep, and it’s wreaking havoc here in Ever After. Our queens are fighting for their lives.

Rather like Mother Nature, keeper of the fine balance that’s life in your world, tales that begin with “Once upon a time” were never meant to be messed with.

Now, Ariel is underwater with all the defenses she’s been launching, Aurora hasn’t slept in weeks, and Rapunzel is tangled in… Well, I can’t even begin to tell you.

Rather than try, I’ll let you see for yourself. You and I will talk again afterward—if I survive long enough. So, as our fateful story begins:

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away…

Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland Release Day & Review

Title: Kingdom of Embers
Series: Kingdom Journals #1
Author: Tricia Copeland
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Release Date: February 7, 2017

“He wouldn’t understand. He didn’t live in a masked world. In truth, he did. Most beings, pure humans, walked through life believing they were the only type of people that existed.” –Alena

As a creature forbidden by both vampire and witch law, Alena traverses the country with her Vampire Council Chancellor mother in search of an unknown entity.

Everything changes when Alena finds Hunter. Their bond may be the key to the answers Alena seeks. But her mother introduces her to Theron, an equally handsome and mysterious suitor. Will the truth about his intentions be uncovered before it’s too late? Or will her Mother’s kingdom be reduced to embers?

Find out in Kingdom of Embers!

Praise for Tricia’s paranormal novella Drops of Sunshine

“The way it played with my emotions was incredible, especially for such a short story. It really was magical to read.” – A. B. of 2 One Click Chicks

“… it says a lot about Drops that I really wanted more story.”– Tia Silverthorne Bach, author of The Tala Prophecy Series

Find Drops of Sunshine and all Tricia’s books at www.triciacopeland.com

It's hard to have a fresh spin on vampires, but Kingdom of Embers offers just that. Whatever you think you know about vampire lore, toss it out. Alena is a vampire-witch hybrid, and even she doesn't completely understand those rules, mainly because her mother hasn't shared much yet.

As Alena searches for answers, she begins to realize how much she has to learn about her role in the Universe. She connects with a childhood friend, who is also more than he originally appeared, and challenges those around her to share the truth ... to trust her with it.

But her journey brings her face-to-face with danger. Kudos to the author for the great balance between developing Alena--allowing the reader to become attached--and creating action and intrigue. It makes for a captivating story.

Verseborn by PM Hernandez Debuts ... Plus Review

The wait is over! If you are like me and loved Earthborn, Book 1 in the Earthborn series, you will go ga-ga over Verseborn, Book 2, which is available in ebook format on Amazon. If you’re a Kindle Unlimited customer, you can read it for FREE!
And the cover is absolutely stunning!
Addy and Brock are back and this time, they’re headed to Ayezh:
ADELAIDE BECKER has one goal: rescue her father from his enemies and certain death. In a desperate bid to save the father she just met, she puts her faith in the one person she shouldn’t, Daxon Aluxni, an Ayezhni with his own agenda. What she doesn’t anticipate is being drawn to the very people she holds responsible for her father’s capture, her family’s breakup, and the exploitation of Earthborn like her.
BROCK GRIGNI figures Addy will throttle him for disregarding her wishes, but he follows her to Ayezh. While he knows she’s powerful, she isn’t invincible or truly aware of the danger surrounding her, and he wants to be by her side. Used to being as unemotional as any Ayezhni, the strength of his love for Addy surprises him. Unfortunately, along with the good comes the bad, and he struggles with unfamiliar feelings: jealousy, anger, inadequacy, and pain.
Facing almost insurmountable odds, Addy must fight for everything she holds dear. If she fails, not only will she lose Brock and her father, but also the freedom of her fellow Earthborn.
With two planets depending on her, can Addy do what it takes?
Look for the third and final book in the series later this year!

Review
Science fiction hasn't always been my favorite genre because too often characterization gets sacrificed to action. Don't get me wrong, I love action, but it can fall flat if the audience doesn't care about the characters. In Verseborn, and Earthborn before that, we get an in-depth look into Adelaide's motivations and thoughts, so when the action comes, it's even more captivating. We understand why she's willing to risk it all, and we love her for it.
And getting to know her doesn't preclude amazing edge-of-your-seat action. Book 2 picks right up where book 1 left us, and it never lulls. From page 1, you strap in and take a crazy--and so enjoyable--roller coaster ride.
If you love science fiction, don't delay in picking up your copy. But if you've ever hesitated about the genre, let this book be the reason you learn to love it.
