Our New Baby: ROW80 Check In

My life is truly blessed. I am the oldest of three girls and now have three girls of my own. My sisters and I have all girls... seven in total. Until yesterday.

Congratulations to my sister, and Blog/Webmaster, Dana Newbrough on the arrival of her second daughter. I can't wait to meet baby girl #8!

Welcome to the world, Sydney Mae Newbrough

ROW80 Update

I arrived back in Maryland last night at 11pm, so my Sunday to Wednesday update is not too exciting. Still, I managed to accomplish some goals. More importantly, I'm rejuvenated and ready to tackle my writing in particular.

Writing: Trying to use my airport time effectively, I managed 750 words yesterday. 750 words written in a notebook. I should post a picture of the writing. So messy. The words were coming so fast, and I didn't want to try to find a plug for my laptop. I'm excited to write more tonight.

Blogging: I managed to repurpose some old posts while on vacation, but I wrote a new one yesterday for this blog and Mom in Love with Fiction. I even managed to stay on top of my ROW80 comments and sponsor duties.

Reading: Score! I read two books and several articles I've been meaning to read. One of the books was really disappointing, and I'm struggling with how honest to be in my review.

Editing: Made a lot of progress on two different projects.

Exercise: Two hour-long hikes in gorgeous Breckenridge, Colorado. It doesn't get any better than that.

Hope everyone is having a great week! I'm excited to check in with some word counts on Sunday.

Whoo hoo! Congrats on the new little one in the family, and for getting some work done even with all the traveling! I know I'm good at reading when traveling, not so much on the writing, unless it's on a plane. I don't know, maybe it's how the fold-down tray makes a great desk?

I'm intrigued about the disappointing book, and as far as how honest to be...life's too short to not be honest, in my opinion, but I know that's easier said than done! I'll have to keep an eye out for the review, either way.

Keep up the great work!

Oooooh, love new babies in the family! My sister-in-law is pregnant with a baby due in the summer. Sydney is beautiful!

I've been there about how to review a book you didn't really love, but promised to review. I erred on the generous side with the star rating (a 4 because it was a 3.55 in my book and that rounds up) and tempered my written comments with anything redeeming that I could. When I looked for positives, even though one was just a completely unique setting for me, I was surprised to find more that I originally expected. Good luck and a big thank you for all the reviewing you do, Tia. It's such a great way that you are contributing to the reading world in addition to your books!

Congratulations on your beautiful new niece!

I love to hear that you are excited about your writing. It's great that you were so enthused to write that you didn't want to stop to find a plug.

Have a great week!

Thanks everyone. My sister is one heck of a gal, and I sure do love her and those babies. I was already rejuvenated from my trip, but seeing that baby's face only gave me more energy.
