Grammar: Short and Sweet Saturdays

Saturdays are for family and catching up, so I've decided to make them Short and Sweet Saturdays here. Mostly I will share quick thoughts or questions based on a quote, graphic, or picture.

I hate when people use irregardless (it's a double negative). It's not a word! Let's all agree to get the word out about this sensitive topic. Obviously, the "like to cast your vote" won't work here (it was originally published on Facebook), but feel free to show your support by saying Like in the comments below.

Ha! I hate that "word" too. I believe people confused "irrespective" and "regardless." I actively fight against such grammar evil in my neck of the woods, Tia!

Haha. You know, I don't think I knew it wasn't a word... but I've never used it. So I guess I'm okay :)

Irregardless is one of my pet peeves as well. I mention it every time I hear it. Usually I get the annoyed sighs, but I don't hear people I tell using it again, once they understand the double-negative they're saying.
