Krista Quotes and Musings - Adults are Strange

In Depression Cookies, Krista laments, "Adults are strange. It can't be life's ultimate goal to become one."

Do you remember feeling this way as a teenager?

As adults we often want to replay the scenes of youth with the knowledge of age, but would you go back?

No way, Jose! You couldn't pay me any amount of money to be a teenager again. Think about it. All of those movies of body-swapping with a teen daughter, or making a wish to become your son? You tell me what teenager was cool for being mature. Don't worry, I'll wait. :) The reality is IF we went back, we'd screw something else up. Being a kid requires a certain ignorance of risk and defiance of authority. It's just not fun, otherwise.

Elizabeth, Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I wouldn't want to go back either, yet I draw from those feelings to write most of my characters. Teenagers leave me so much room for creativity... they are equally explorative and resistant.

Plus, I've now found my way to your site. I enjoyed it (and am now following you on Twitter). I look forward to hearing how Cancelled does.
