Stuck Energy: Late & Lackluster ROW80

"Clutter is stuck energy.
The word "clutter" derives from the Middle English word "clotter,"
which means to coagulate -
and that's about as stuck as you can get."
Karen Kingston

Sorry I was MIA this week. I came back from vacation all gung-ho to kick it back into gear. Unfortunately, all that energy was sucked up by my house. I tried to ignore it. Truly I did. But I simply can't function, much less be creative, in this...

When I sit down to my computer, I feel the weight of the clutter. Even though I've set up my office and have a few other places in the house that don't feel as confining, the Muse refuses to visit. She showed up a few times, made a screeching noise of pure fear, and disappeared immediately.

So this is a late and lackluster A Round of Words in 80 Days (ROW80) update.

I will take up writing full force starting Tuesday, 8/27--the day my kids go back to school. Until then, I'm keeping up with my Chasing Memories promotions, book reviews (I've read some great ones lately!), and hopefully blog posts (missed Wednesday this week, boo!).

Also, I'm going to enjoy the last week of summer with my kids and finish organizing my house. My muse will be so happy... she'll have to come and stay for awhile.

Can you be creative in chaos?

Oh, and don't forget... Chasing Memories is available for 99 cents on Kindle through Sunday, 8/18. Pick it up before it goes back to $3.99. (Kindle Link)

Plus, there are many other books on sale here as part of the Indie-Licious Back to School Sale.

I feel your pain. I hate the boxes. I hate the disorganization. And right now I hate the movers who packed us. I have a cabinet that they took the shelves out of and I can't find the hardware to install the shelves. It seems like it's one step forward, two steps back.

So the words will need more time to stew... Write your five sentences. Empty one box a day... You'll be done faster than you know, and you won't feel as worn out.

Don't try to "get it all done", Tia. You actually get more done when you break things down into small bites.

Ha! I was just saying this past week that I really won't get a lot of editing done until the kids go back to school. That's when I do my best work.

Hang in there. Best wishes with the sorting and settling! Heading over now to buy Chasing Memories. :)

You're not alone. I couldn't function knowing there was a room in my vicinity that looked like that. One box and one room at a time.

Yay for great reviews. ^_^

Thanks for the heads up on the back to school sale. I'll have a look at that.
Oh wow! that is a lot of stuff. We're decorating at the moment and my study has been taken over with paint pots, but at least I can still get to my desk.
I'm good at ignoring housework though. I can do a bit, write, do a bit more until the mess is gone. It's when I'm emotionally tired that I can't write. It's frustrating but the only thing I can do is nothing until it passes.
Hope you had a good break, and coped without the internet.

Not only could I not write in that, I couldn't think, pee, or relax until every box was gone and everything put in its place. *shudder* When I moved from Louisiana to Tennessee, we were settled overnight. I couldn't sleep. LOL! Same with the move from Tennessee to Georgia. That's the reason I hate moving. OCD, anyone? :) Great post! WRITE ON!
